"Canzona II (2011) alludes to many hallmarks of the late Renaissance instrumental canzona, though with an aggregate formal structure. The music begins with a two-part contrapuntal canzona texture, which is interrupted by a festive refrain. The contrapuntal texture returns twice more (interspersed with refrains), each time starting from the beginning again and lengthening."
